‘Failing to Plan
is the same as
Planning to Fail’
What is goal?
- Goals are the ends toward which we direct our effort.
- Things we want to achieve.
- help motivate us to do work, attend classes and study for exams.
The important characteristic of goals :
- Self chosen
- Moderately challenging
- Realistic
- Positive
- Specific
Why Goals have to be SELF-CHOSEN?
- Goals that are set by our parents might not work on us
- You have to be determine with your goals
- It is important for you to do what you want, if not it will not work on work
Why Goals should be MODERATELY CHALLENGING?
- You have to look for what you have done in your past
- You have to revise your goals more frequent so we will be on track
Why Goals should be REALISTIC?
- Think about your goals
- You have to carefully evaluate your chances to achieve the best
Why Goals should be MEASURABLE?
- Goals that measurable easy for you to measure what you want
- It would be difficult if you just say “I want to do well in my courses”
- You have to set to get A or B for your subject
Why Goals have to be FINITE/ LIMIT?
- Goals have to have a limited time frame
Why Goals have to be POSITIVE?
- Negative goals will not work
- They are not good
- They are not motivating
- You will tend to do better with positive attitude
- Avoid using try, hope, if, think or etc
Long or Short- term Goals
Long-term Goals
- Goals that are set for the end year or three or four years later
Short-term Goals
- Goals that are set for new semester, next week, tomorrow or etc
This is my goal :
ACADEMIC GOALS =
- Graduate with the vice chancellor’s grace
- Get an ACCA certification
- Balanced academic and co-curriculum activities.
PERSONAL GOALS =
- Have my own car and house before 30
- Get married at 25 years old
- Travel Europe with my family
- Flawless skin with my own reading about skincare and using my own money
- A fit and healthy body
